Transformer recycling at the Liebenwalde site takes place in a dismantling hall or at a dismantling centre with an integrated oil separation system. Large transformers up to 100t are dismantled as well as local network transformers. Recycling of the non-ferrous metal conductors (Cu+Al) takes place on our own BlmSchG approved plants. The disposal of residual products such as transformer oil (PCB free) as well as secondary waste containing oil takes place within the scope of legally valid proof of disposal and contracts.
The supply of transformers is subject to strict controls. Proof that the transformer oil has no PCB in it must be provided within the scope of the legal recycling regulations through analysis by an approved laboratory for the material recycling of each individual transformer by the waste creator/waste owner.
Another service offered by KMR Kabel Metall Recycling GmbH including especially developed technologies is the disposal/dismantling/recycling of large transformers in power plants and transformer stations (see reference list) directly on site.
